    Bulk edit and CSV import

Change many prices at once with Bulk Edit, and bring a whole menu in from a spreadsheet with the CSV import — including a ready-made template.

    Updated Jul 16, 2026

Two tools on the Menu page save you from editing items one by one: Bulk Edit (spreadsheet-style editing of what's already there) and CSV import (bringing a whole menu in from a file). Use the first for price rounds, the second for day one or a full seasonal rewrite.

Bulk Edit: many changes, one screen

    1. Open Menu in the sidebar and choose Bulk edit.
    2. Your items appear as an editable table: name, description, price, availability.
    3. Change as many cells as you need — raise prices, fix typos, switch dishes off for the season.
    4. Save once. All changes go live together, within about 2 minutes.

    Tip

Bulk Edit is the right tool for supplier-driven price rounds: work down the price column in one sitting instead of opening thirty items. Guests scanning the same printed QR code see the new prices automatically — no reprint.

CSV import: from spreadsheet to menu

The import accepts a CSV file with exactly three columns: name, description, price.

    1. Open Menu and choose CSV import.
    2. Download the template and fill it in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers — one row per dish.
    3. Export/save as CSV and upload it.
    4. Review and confirm. The items are created and go live within about 2 minutes.

After importing, finish the items in the dashboard: assign categories, add photos, tag allergens, and create options — those don't travel through the CSV.

    Note

The import counts toward your plan's item cap. If your spreadsheet has 60 dishes and you're on Free (up to 10 items), import your core menu first or upgrade beforehand — see Plans and upgrading.

    CSV export

The CSV export downloads your current items as a spreadsheet. Use it as:

    • a backup before big changes,
    • a worksheet — adjust prices in a spreadsheet with your accountant, then re-enter the winners via Bulk Edit,
    • a handoff to a consultant or translator working outside MenuKlik.

    Best practices

    • Keep descriptions in the CSV short — you'll polish them later in the editor, where you can see how they wrap on a phone.
    • Use plain numbers in the price column (e.g. 12.50) — currency symbols belong to your menu's currency setting, not the file. See Currencies and pricing.
    • Import in category-sized batches if your menu is huge — it keeps the post-import cleanup (categories, photos) manageable.

    Troubleshooting

    • The file won't import. Make sure it's saved as CSV (not .xlsx), uses the template's three columns, and has a name for every row.
    • Prices came in wrong. Check for thousands separators or currency symbols in the price column — use 1250.00, not $1,250.
    • Import stopped partway. You likely hit your plan's item limit — the importer can't exceed it. Remove rows or upgrade, then re-import the rest.
