    Promotions and specials

    Announce happy hours, lunch deals, and seasonal specials on your menu with time-windowed promotions that switch themselves on and off.

    Promotions are announcements on your public menu — happy hour, a lunch deal, a seasonal special — each with its own time window. Set the schedule once and the promotion appears and disappears on its own; you can run up to 3 at a time on every plan.

    Create a promotion

    1. Open Promotions in the sidebar and choose Add promotion.
    2. Write a title ("Happy hour −20%") and a short description ("Weekdays 17:00–19:00, all draft beers and house wines").
    3. Set the start and end date and time — the window when guests should see it.
    4. Switch it Active and save. Within about 2 minutes it shows on your menu — and it will retire itself when the window ends.

    Promotion statuses

    The Promotions page shows each promotion's state at a glance:

    • LIVE — active and inside its time window; guests see it now.
    • Scheduled — active, waiting for its start time.
    • Inactive — switched off manually; kept for later.
    • Expired — past its end time; duplicate-worthy history.

    The active toggle is your manual override: flip a promotion off mid-window if the kitchen runs out, or re-arm an old one with fresh dates.

    Promotions in multiple languages

    Promotion text is translated like everything else on your menu: saved text is auto-translated into your enabled languages, and you can refine each language by hand. A guest reading your menu in Arabic sees the happy hour in Arabic. See Menu languages and translations.

    Best practices

    • One message per promotion. "−20% on cocktails, 17–19h" lands; a paragraph of terms doesn't.
    • Match dayparts. A lunch deal that's still advertised at dinner erodes trust — set honest windows and let them expire on time.
    • Rotate rather than accumulate. With 3 active slots, retire the weakest promotion when you have a new idea — check the Analytics page to see whether attention moved. See Understanding your analytics.
    • Reuse expired promotions for recurring deals — update the dates on last month's promotion instead of rewriting it.

    Troubleshooting

    • The promotion isn't showing. Check three things: the active toggle is on, the current time is inside the start–end window, and the menu cache has had its 2 minutes — see Why isn't my menu updating?.
    • I can't add another promotion. You have 3 active ones already — deactivate or let one expire, then add the new one.
    • The translated wording is off. Open the promotion, switch to that language, and edit the text by hand — your manual wording sticks.
